The kids and I all agreed that the best part of camping is the smores. We don't have to go outside for that! This is how city folks make smores, well actually I would have made them in the microwave, but the kids dig the fire.
They liked just being next to the fire. It is something different and I have to admit it does add a bit of ambience without the threat of being eaten by a bear. I can live with that. Oh and Vanessa decided that she didn't need to wash her face after dinner. I bet she will rethink that decision when she sees these pictures.
Logan did enjoy his smores. He had a hard time keeping is little fingers off the fixings while I was cooking the marshmallows. The evidence is on his face. He told me he was eating chocolate while I was busy perfecting the marshmallows aka not burning them. I didn't realize what he was saying until I turned around just in time to take this picture. I think he knew I wasn't listening.

Speaking of not paying attention, Vanessa decided to do her own photo shoot of her favorite person, herself while I was busy with the aforementioned marshmallows. See it isn't easy to get a good shot of yourself even when you are naturally gorgeous. By the way, she decided she didn't need to brush her hair either. I hope she has learned her lesson.

This was great! I am quite the city girl myself; don't get me wrong I love a good hike and bonfire, but I want to be sleeping inside and have a hot shower before bed too! I love the action shots of Vanessa eating, very becoming & Logan looks like the cookie monster with that chocolate grin.=) I am so jealous you have a fire place!
Cute kids!!
